『アリソン』『リリアとトレイズ』シリーズのスピンオフ的作品です。
今巻と５月に発売される後編では、『リリアとトレイズ１＆２』で、
メグが夏休みをどのように過ごしていたかが語られる模様。

まだ前編だけなので何ともいえませんが、
『メグセロ』は銃も飛行機も出てこない、学園もの。
ハラハラ感は少なめですが、安心してゆったり読むことが出来ます。
また、表題のメグとセロンの恋模様も気になります。
天然？メグと、恋愛事に関しては奥手なセロン。
二人とも普通の少年少女なのですが、そこがまた
読んでいて楽しく、もどかしいながらも応援したい気分になります。

果たして、セロンはメグに告白できるのか、二人は恋人になれるのか！
というのが私的に一番気になる箇所なのですが、
これを踏まえて『リリトレ』を読み返してみると…？
メグが、リリアと恋愛・恋人について話している箇所が。
(内容は読んで確かめてみてください☆)
シリーズの裏話である今作ですが、ただそれだけではなく、
｢メグセロを読んだ後に、リリトレを読むと改めて分かる｣面白さもあります。
このシリーズが好きな方には、オススメですよ〜！

あ、でも公式サイトに載っていた“あらすじ”には、
『リリトレ』直後の話が読めると書いてあったのですが、
その箇所は冒頭にしかなかったので、ちょっと残念でした。

　タイトルや帯などであるように『アリソン』『リリアとトレイズ』の世界でのお話。『アリソン』から『リリア〜』へは時間が随分流れていましたが、今作は時系列的には『リリア〜』と平行しています。リリアが夏休み、旅行している時親友のメグはどうしていたか、といったところでしょうか？

　主人公はセロンという少年。メグに片思いしており、どうにかしてお近づきになれないかと四苦八苦。ところが夏休みはいって思わぬチャンスが。頼まれた演劇部の合宿手伝いに参加していると、コーラス部に所属しているメグも合宿に参加しており、言葉を交わすことが出来た。そんな人生最良の日などと浮かれていたのも束の間、“新聞部”の少女が持ってきた一枚の写真を巡る謎に巻き込まれて……何かが起きそうだというところで以下続刊です。

　二作が冒険ものの要素を含んだものに対し、今作は学園推理物の要素が含まれているように思います。飛行機とか銃とか出てきません。舞台は夏休み中の学校です。セロンはメグや親友のライーを含む6人で行動。他にいかにも怪しい人物も登場します。
　ちなみに誰がこの後どんな活躍暗躍するかは、この一冊だけでは予想しづらい。まあ、敢えて言うなら、これを読むとヴィルが凄く頼もしいキャラで、トレイズはへたれじゃなく単に押しに弱いだけだと思えてしまいます。この作者が書くキャラのわりにはセロンはあまりにも「普通の少年」です……

今回はこれまでの「アリソン」「リリアとトレイズ」に比べると"スピンオフ"らしく、
これまでの2作との関連性がやや低めですね。
メグちゃん以外はほぼ初登場キャラばかりです(セロンは名前だけが以前登場してますが）。
飛行機アクションの代わりに学園ミステリー風味です。サスペンス要素は今回もありますが。

リリアと好対照なヒロイン・メグちゃんと、「アリソン」のヴィルの頼もしさを少しと「リリトレ」のトレイズのヘタレ(笑)を沢山持ったヒーロー・セロン君との今後が楽しみになります♪
1巻だけでは冒頭の展開は想像も出来ないです；

オマケ要素？としてメインキャラの名前が洋画の俳優さんの名前だらけです…(笑)
