5巻はこれまでの巻と少し違っています。
今までの巻では、一話一話のつながりが緩やかでしたが、5巻では一本の線で全ての話しが繋がっています。
また、ヘンリエッタやリコといった義体の少女達はあまり出てきません。この巻の主役は以前登場した、
ピノッキオとフランコ・フランカ達です。五共和国派に属する彼等を中心にしてストーリーが進んでいきます。
今までわからなかった彼等の過去、彼等と公社との戦いが描かれていてかなり読み応えがあります。
特にピノッキオの心情が丁寧に描かれていて、彼とフランコ、クリスティアーノとの会話は読んでいて感動しました。
そして、ラストではピノッキオとトリエラとの壮絶な死闘が繰り広げられます。大切な人のため絶対に後には引かないという覚悟がぶつかる戦いは、ラストを飾るのにふさわしいシーンです。
戦いの結末を是非読んで確かめてください。

巻末の３人のイラストは泣けた・・

ガンスリンガー・ガール第五巻。光溢れるローマ近郊でのフランコ＆フランカ＋ピノッキオ――家族の休暇、一方フィレンツェ、仄暗いサン・マルコ美術館（フラ・アンジェリコ『受胎告知』前！）にて行われるクリスティアーノ・”サヴォナローラ”捕捉命令。走り続ける意味を見失い始めた”テロリスト”たちの悩みと、躊躇なく彼らに襲いかかる福祉公社。避けられぬ宿命の激戦、トリエラv.s.ピノッキオが残したものは、悲しい涙と癒えない傷。イタリアの激しいコントラスト、明と暗、動と静、善と悪の狭間に、物語はいよいよその本当の姿を現し始める。

「何しろ正義ってのはあちこちに転がっているもんだから、、」

「情に触れると弱くなる」

この二つが今回のキーワードだと思います。
今作のもう１人の主人公とも言えるピノッキオ編がメインです。

「読んでよかった」「見たくなかった」
と、読後に二つの感情が上のキーワードと共に心に重くのしかかって来る衝撃の第５巻。

争いが絶えない今の世の中だからこそ読ま、なければいけない作品だと思います。
