学園都市の新学期初日。それは、上条当麻のとびきり不幸で、長ーい長ーい夏休み最終日の続きにふさわしく、魔術や超能力がらみの事件にがっちり巻き込まれるいちにちなのでした。

まず、上条君、タフだねぇ。それと、前巻とあまり間をおかずに読むと良いと思います。翌日の話なので。ていうか、上条君休みなしだし。8/31→9/1で。中身は、今回も、おいおいおい...っと突っ込みたくなりますが、少しまとまってきたような気もします。でかい話につながるようですし、インデックスも少し活躍始めてますし。しかし、最後はどうなって終わるんだろう？ちょっと気になります。

いままで語られていなかった謎が、
今回いろいろと明らかになります。

そしてなんとビックリ、
第1話以降ヒロインの座を追われ、
タイトルに名前があるのに影が薄いこと
「トイレット博士」に並ぶ勢いだったインデックスが、
色々と役に立っています。
これはちょっと見どころかもしれませんね。

そして、また蒲池さん一流のアイデアが光ります。
いろいろ考えますねぇ。

惜しくらむは相変わらず人物の掘り下げが甘いことでしょうか。
キャラクターがひとりでに活躍してお話が出来上がるのではなく、
活躍シーンありきでキャラを追随させているのでしょうね。

面白かったですよ。
一巻以降、「本当にヒロインなのか？」という疑惑のあった
インデックスが、きちんと活躍していましたし。

「友達」、「化け物」、「人間」などのテーマや設定も、大変興味深く読むことが出来ました。
ただ、各キャラの感情やそれらの設定が生み出す悲劇的な部分を、
少し前面へと押し出しすぎ、長々と語りすぎかな、と感じました。

「秘すれば花」という言葉があり、その意味するところは「本当に表現したいものは、匂わせるだけであえて観客に見せることはしない。
それこそが最高の美の表現であり、雅である」というものです。

今回の話は、これでもかこれでもかと各キャラの心情などを語りすぎているがタメに、
「もうそれは分かったから、先へ進もうよ……」と言いたくなってしまう
シーンが多々あるように思えました。

なお、番外的な物語として、『とある予言の禁書目録』という話が『とある』ところで読めるのですが、
これは、６巻を読了後に読んだ方が絶対に良いと思います。こっちは本当に面白かったです。５つ星でも良いです。
かなりムチャクチャな話で、かなり笑わされました。
