間違いなく心に残る一冊だと思います。読み始めたら止まりません！！
残念なのは巻を追う事にどんどん袋小路にハマってしまっている事です。

出来ればファンタジー小説が好きな人に、是非読んで欲しい作品！！
剣と魔法以外にも、おもしろいファンタジーがここにあります！！

逸脱しているのは、その映像的な文章。
アクションシーンなどの描写は、アニメーションとして頭の中に浮かんでくる。

更に、人と化け物の中間という主人公の悩みや心理も、まるで本当にそんな存在がいると思わせられるほど、リアルに描けている。

個性の光る設定である《怪》についても良く練りこまれているので、最終巻の出来次第では、アニメ化もありえるのではないか？
そんな期待を持たせてくれる作品なのだが、あと一つ、もう少しだけ何かが足りない気がする。
大賞を逃したのは、それが原因かもしれない。

なお、グロテスクな表現も多いので、そういうのがＮＧだという人には、おすすめできない、かな？（ターミネーター２を平気で見れる程度の胆力があれば、多分全く問題はないけど）

私は小説よりマンガ派で一切小説を読まなかったが、この小説に出会い初めて小説にハマッた。このシリーズは主人公が話が進むにつれて身がぼろぼろになって行くけど、そこがなんだかかっこいいと思う。強いだけの主人公より戦うたびに傷を負っていく主人公の物語を読みたかったんだ!(私の場合)
