台詞と最低限の説明文だけといったスカスカの本。作家でも翻訳家でもない日本人が書いたせいか、こちらが期待している背景の深い説明とか、登場人物の情報や内心などの書き込みはほんのわずか。脚本を訳したような雰囲気に近く、がっかり。最近の日本人ライターによるノベライズって、こういうレベルが増えてますね。

個人的には面白かったのですが、上記の＜内容（「BOOK」データベースより）＞を鵜呑みにして『インデペンデンス・デイ』『デイ・アフター・トゥモロー』や『マトリックス』のような内容を期待する人にはお奨めできません。また「謎」に対して明確な「答」がないと納得いかないような人も向いていないでしょう。
わたしが面白いと思えたのは、これは人類に勝ち目はないわ‥‥と思わせる宇宙人の圧倒的なオーバーテクノロジーと、逆立ちしたって勝ち目がないのはわかっていても抵抗しようとする人類（というか米政府ですが）の悲しさです。
でも、この作品中の人類が愚かだとは思いません。ノラ猫が、撫でようとして手を近づけた猫好きな人を噛み付くのと同じで、無理からぬことでしょう。
