　今の中学生は･･･、先生は･･･と批判をするのは簡単ですが、
よく知らないで、またはある特殊な例で全体を見てしまう人は
いませんか？

　私も瀬尾まいこさんと同じように、中学校で教えていますので、
「あ、こんなことある！そうそう！」と同じ気持ちになりながら
この本を読みました。生徒指導の問題が次々と起こったり、生徒から暴力を
受けることもありましたが、確かにそれは一部です。
　行事の前に面倒くさいな、と思いながらも人一倍がんばって
しまったり、なにより生徒が一生懸命に取り組んでいる姿が
好きだったり。私も瀬尾先生とは似ているタイプかもしれません。
ただ、大きく違うのは、瀬尾学級のようなすてきなエピソードがあっても
それを文章にして、多くの人に知ってもらうことができないことです。
　教員の仕事は、（どの仕事でもそうですが）とにかく自分の時間を
削ってやることが多いのです。勤務時間外であっても、休日であっても。
その中で書くというもう一つの仕事を並立させるのはとても大変でしょう。
でも、これからも是非「ほんわかした」瀬尾まいこ作品を世に送り出してほしいです。

「最近の中学生は」と悪い意味で使ってしまうことが多いが、この本に出てくる中学生は温かくて優しい。もちろん生意気で反抗的な部分もあるのだろうけど、自分が中学生だった頃の方が無感動で周りの人に対して優しさが足りなかったと反省してしまった。
大変なことがほとんどだろうけど、教師という仕事に魅力を感じた。

中学生の何気ない言葉や行動に感動したり爆笑したりしました。
ちなみに「てる子さんの出産」は大爆笑でした。

瀬尾まいこさんのエッセイ第2弾。中学校の国語教師として、日々を送っている著者の日常生活。生徒との心をくすぐられる毎日のできごとがたっぷり詰まっています。

　『見えない誰かと』は瀬尾さんと学校、教職、同僚（上司）…といった視点で、楽しかったけれど、今回は瀬尾さんの愛する中学生の話が中心で、またまた興味深かったです。
青少年のいろんな事件が多く、何かと取りざたされる今日この頃だけれど、いろいろ情報の多い生きにくい世の中、多くの中学生はけなげにやっているし、大人が思う以上に大人だし、律儀でかわいい！！「学校大好き！中学生大好き！」の私は共感できることが多く、またそんな瀬尾さんに、エールを送りたい気持ちがいっぱいになりました。
　あっという間に読めてしまうので、やや物足りない気もするけれど、こうした今も中学生相手に日々熱くなっているんだろうな〜と考えると何だか嬉しくなってきます。そうした瀬尾さんのキラキラした教員生活から生まれてくる、切なく可笑しくあったかい作品をこれからもたくさん読めることを期待しています。
