内容】昔からある、普通の少年が異世界に呼び出されて
私たちの救世主様と助けを求められて、
少年にしか動かせないロボット？に乗って、
悪？に立ち向かう話。

批評】異世界に呼び出されて、英雄に祭りあげられ戦うのは
昔からテレビ、ゲームでありましたが、その延長ですね。
特色としては、リアルにそれを考えたらどうなるかと考えてある点。
政治として少年を利用しようとする者
少年を使うための餌としての女性
２巻以降になりますが、人を殺す感覚への恐怖
夢あこがれていた世界が、だんだん色と匂いをつけ少年を
苦しめていく内容です。笑いはあまりありません。
･･････････････だが、それがいい！
少年は多少ヘタレでウブですが頑張っています。
いったいどうなるんだ！と気になる内容に仕上がっています。

主人公は異世界に飛ばされ、そこで救世主として神に対抗しうる唯一の力、“イコノクラスト”の搭乗者として戦う物語。

簡単に言ってしまえば異世界の救世主ものとして王道の作品だと感じる。
ただこの作品が他と一線を画しているのは、単純に主人公の立ち位置なんだろう。
大抵の王道作品は異世界にきた主人公に都合がよく、周りの仲間や権力を持つ立場の人間が主人公に協力的なものだが、
この作品は主人公を丁重に扱っているように装うものの、主人公をただの部品のようにしか周りが思っていないところ。
そしてこの一巻に関して言えば、異世界からやってきた主人公の思考や行動を滑稽に見せているように感じる。
現実と異世界のギャップというものを表しているんだろうが、少し読んでいて気の毒になる。
幼なじみの花梨が考え方や行動がしっかりしているだけに、さらに複雑な気持ちになってしまう。

ここまであまりポジティブな感想ではないが、この一巻ではこれが必要だということが続巻を読んでいくと理解できる。
イコノクラストは主人公の英雄譚というより、主人公の成長物語なのだろう。
だから、あまり早い段階で主人公に何かを求めると、この物語は息苦しいものになるかもしれない。
気長にというのも変だが、世界観といい登場人物といいしっかりしているので、
じっくり腰を据えて読んでもらった方がこの作品の良さがより伝わると感じる。
