円道 祥之
1960年、東京都武蔵野市に生まれる。東京経済大学卒業。大学在学中からアニメーション専門誌などに寄稿し、卒業後執筆業に。96年に初の単行本『完全「世界征服」読本』を上梓。その後、99年に刊行された『空想歴史読本』がベストセラーとなった。ほかに、『空想科学論争!』(柳田理科雄氏と共著)など、空想科学世界にまつわる多数の著作がある(本データはこの書籍が刊行された当時に掲載されていたものです)

特撮・アニメ・伝説などを年代別に分類し特性を解明しようとした本

アニメ上の設定などを年別に並べて概観しようとしています。
構成はまず、
　年表がありその年表では空想世界のイベントと
実際の歴史上のイベントを上下段で対比して何がいつぐらい
起きたのかを確認しています。
　その中の主要な空想上のイベントを２，３取り上げ、時代背景と
どのような関わりがあったのかを考察した文書が１０ページぐらい
あるセットになっています。
　このような、年表と考察のセットが３２章に渡って存在し
連綿と過去から未来までの年表を形作っています。

　大昔から未来までという形式をとっている都合上なのですが
一番おもしろい近過去と現在の部分が本の後ろのほうにあり
東京タワーは６回壊されたとか、やっぱり空想よりも
現実が先に行っているものとかがあって面白い内容です。

　少し残念なのは、年表を作る調査で息切れしたのか、
もっと考察を深めればもっと面白い内容になったのではと
思うのが多い点です。完成度から言うと普通ぐらいですが
よくぞここまで調べたということで★４つの評価にしています。

以前出た単行本とほぼ同じ内容です。世界観も歴史観もぜんぜん違う作品を無理矢理並べる、っていうコンセプトに乗れるかどうか、ですねえ。ボクは楽しめました。あと、ネタにしている作品を知っているかどうか、というのも。一番楽しめる世代は、おそらく諸作品をリアルタイムで視聴した四十代以上ではないかと。今やカルトなＰプロ作品はともかくも、超マイナーな妖術武芸帳とか白獅子仮面なんか、今の若い奴は観たことあるまい（笑）。ああ、こういう能天気な作品もあったなあ、などと懐かしがりながら読むのが最適ですね。
