ノリの良い文章と４コマ漫画で一気に読ませるゲーム業界本。
応募から入社、プロジェクト参加、発売、海外版まで、ゲーム制作のジェットコースターツアーのような構成となっている。
売れるゲームこそ良いゲームだが、それを作るには良心が必要というのは、痛感している人も多いのではないだろうか。

実はボクも同業界人だが、悲惨さを笑い飛ばすバイタリティを感じた。
ただ、挫折して業界を去る場合などに触れていないのが多少の不満点か。

現役企画マンが書かれた本なので当たり前と言えば当たり前ですが…あまりにリアルなゲーム業界。
著者と同業者の私は、不幸なのは自分だけでなかったんだと少し和むと同時に勇気をいただきました。がんばります。

ゲーム業界、というのはゲームが好きな方なら
大なり小なり、誰でも一度は憧れるものなのかもしれません。
確かに、ゲームと関わることを仕事にできるという点や
ゲームを企画し、製作するという作業に興味のある方も多いでしょう。
…しかし、その現実は？
この本は、全盛期の崩壊にシステムの複雑化、果ては上下関係…と
ゲーム業界に企画屋として関わった著者の体験談をもとに、
いかに厳しく報われない世界かということを教えてくれます。
しかし著者は決して愚痴をこぼし、ただ「酷い業界だ」と言っているわけではありません。
ゲーム業界の現実を見せ、それでも踏みこむ覚悟を問うているのです。
ただ抽象的な「憧れ」から目指す若者が多い世界だからこそ、
志望者には是非この本を一読してほしいと思います。
