表紙のコブタちゃんが可愛かったので購入。
「きょうの猫村さん」で人気を博したほしよりこさんの短編集です。
猫村さんと同じく動物の豚が主役なのかなと思って読み始めたんですが、今回は少年が主人公でした。
主人公イサオ君。
彼が外国の恵まれない子供達に食べさせようと、残飯を食わせて育て始めた豚のブーちゃんと送る数年間の物語。
相変わらずシュール。
何とも少し切ない話でした。
他にもいくつかの短編が入っています。
エディターレビューの方に詳しい粗筋や登場人物が載っていました。
しかし題名が素晴らしい。「きょうの猫村さん」が好きならば購入して損無し!とは言えないのですが…。
私は「僕とポーク」「たろちゃん」が気に入りました。
あと、ちょっと値段がもう少し安めだといいんですがね…。

　期待が大きすぎたのか、大満足！と大喜びするような読後感はありませんでした。
猫村さんでは、猫の擬人化によるエプロンのたて結びや、仕事の合間にちょっとひと休み
するところなど、読み返してみても、くくっと笑えて和む感がありますが、この本では
豚は豚として登場し、たろちゃんはさておき、青年・大人、それぞれの登場人物に哀愁や
生活感が感じられ、また違ったおもしろさがありました。
　少し大人っぽい短編小説のような感じでした。

「きょうの猫村さん」の続巻が待ち遠しくて仕方ない昨今ですが、そのほしよりこさんから新作が届きました。短編中編を合わせた四作が収録されていますが、表題作がダントツの出来です。内容の詳細について触れるのはマナー違反として、この人の作品はその「ありそうでなさそう」なところが可笑しく、「なさそうでありそう」なところに意表をつかれ、「ありそうでありそう」なところが心に沁みるのですが、本書はそれを遺憾なく体感させてくれます。「猫村さん」では長編を支える強固なキャラクターの制約があってなかなか発揮されない、未知数の巨大な才能の片鱗を垣間見せてくれる作品集だと思います。
