奥目の八ちゃんこと岡八朗氏の半生と反省を語った書物です。
構成もしっかりしており、岡八朗氏の章の次に時間を平行して、娘の
市岡裕子さんの章で構成されています。父と娘の心の葛藤が見え隠れ
します。懐かしい吉本新喜劇の役者さんの名前も多数登場します。

五つ星を付けていますが、あくまでも岡八朗氏の全盛期を知っており

尚且つ「土曜の昼は毎週、吉本新喜劇を観ていた」方のみ共感して、
いただける評価です。

岡八朗氏をあまり知らない方は、星4~3つ評価になる書物です。

奥目のはっちゃんを、幼い頃よくTVで見ていましたが、いつの間にか見なくなり、
あんなに面白かったはっちゃんなのに、どうしたのだろう？と思っていました。
TVに画面には決して映らない陰で、こんなにも数々の苦しみがあったとは、
全く知りませんでした。
アルコール依存症、恐ろしい病気ですね。
この本は、有名人が書いた本という括りを超えています。

岡八朗氏が、気負いなく、真摯に、誠実に、ご自分の人生を振り返って
一人の人間として書いている姿と、
娘さんの、父を愛するが故の深い苦しみとそこから光を見出すまでの魂の記録とが、
深く胸に響いてとても感動しました。
特に、娘・裕子さんの、父を理解し許せるまでの長い道のり、
その為に勇気を持って自分を変えようと必死にもがく姿に、とても共感し、
光が見つかりそうになって行く道程には思わず涙が流れました。
復活の舞台の場面は、とても輝いていて、もらい泣きしてしまいました。

父親への愛情に裏打ちされた娘・裕子さんの冷静な視点、感情に流されない書き方や、
何よりその人生にも深く心が動かされました。

私達を思いっきり楽しませてくれた岡八朗さん、本当にありがとうございました。
素晴らしい本を書いて残して下さり、ありがとうございました。
娘さんのこれからの人生にも、更なる大きな祝福がありますことを信じます。

吉本新喜劇でまさに育った私にとっては岡八郎、花紀京はゴールデンコンビだった。そのはっちゃんが姿を見ないと思っていたら、こんな数々の事情を抱えていたとは…。舞台に立つ人の苦悩や人間に起こりがちな驕り、決してはっちゃんだけのことではないとも思った。特に娘の裕子さんが父のため振り回され必死になりつつも、何とか自分の立つ位置を探そうと苦悩する姿は人事とは思えず感銘を受けた。いつからでも遅くない、やり直すには…。
