この本を読んで、安藤さんのジャーナリストとしての姿勢には頭が下がった。きょうび、キャスターといえばスタジオの外には出ずに現場から上がってきた情報をそのまま、リアル感のないまま、伝えているだけのおねーさんたちが多すぎるなか、安藤さんの徹底した現場主義には考えさせられた。報道だけでなく、普通の仕事にもあい通じるものがあると思う。元気のないビジネスマンにもぜひ読んで欲しい一冊。また、時には笑わせてくれ、時には泣かせてくれ、彼女の話術とは別の書く才能にも驚いた。

5.0 out of 5 stars テレビから受ける印象と全然違う安藤優子が描かれている, 2004/2/14
「なぜ自分はスタジオではなく、現場で取材をしなければならないのか」を綴っている。
現場に赴き、スタジオでは決して感じることができない空気を肌身で実感したいという著者。そして、現場で人に出会い、取材対象の感情で心を揺さぶられる著者。

「報道の自由」や「知る権利」、「言論の自由」を声高に振りかざすあの手のジャーナリストが書いた本ではない。また、マスメディアで働く者が描く内幕や暴露話ではない。サラリーマン・ジャーナリストへの苦言や、複雑すぎる事実の背景すべてを単純化して発信するマスメディアの特性に抗い、削ぎ落とされた事実を少しでも視聴者に伝えようとする著者の意気込みがありながらも、肩肘を張らずに読みやすいのは文体で書かれているおかげで、スイスイと読める。

テレビでいつも観る彼女は隙のないキャリアウーマンのように感じるが、実はそうではないようだ。

彼女はプロパーのアナウンサーだと思っていたが、思い違いだった。彼女は他社のマスコミ側から疎ましく思われていると書いているが、そういう非主流派がいないと世の中おかしくなるのだから、頑張って欲しい。せっかくだから、櫻井よしこのように、（あとがきを読む限り、彼女はジャーナリストだと自分で思っているようなので）独自の考えで取材を続けられるように精進してほしい。

TVや新聞というメディアを通じて知る情報を、
自分の価値観で解釈し、それを正義の情報とインプットする。

現場をおもんぱかる安藤さんの書いたこの本を読み進めるにつれ、
自分の正義の情報が崩されていく。

やはり、現場のリアリティに勝る情報はない。
そのリアリティが安藤さんという個人を通して伝わってき、
安藤さんが非常に身近な存在となった。

ニュースを見る目が変わりそうです。
