昭和30年ぐらいの文化住宅には独特の雰囲気があったと思う。
「貧しくても幸せ」という本があったような気がするが、そんな感じの、やさしくて小さな大切な幸せがそこにはあって、
でもなにかが足りない、欠けている、そんな雰囲気が全体に流れていて切ない。この欠けているのは「弟」なんだけれど、そこにはいない弟の存在が濃厚に感じられる。
隣から聞こえてくるユーモレスクが、ひとつの謎解きのカギになっている。居なくなってしまった弟のように、はかなくて美しい、そんな気分になる作品。

弟はどこへ消えたのか・・・・はっきりとした答えは見つからず少しだらだらとした感じの作品でした。少年と女性・ひわ君の関係なども無理やりといった印象を受けます。読み進むうちに謎が解けていく・・・といういつもの作風とは違い残念でした。

行方不明になった弟を核に、物語は進むんだけど、
そのわりに途中で、その扱いが軽くなってしまっている。
でてくることはあるけれど、読者にその存在を忘れさせないため、
っていう感じがします。

最後に急速に弟に話を集約させた印象です。

弟の扱いをもうちょっと大切にすれば、家族の弟への思慕、
そして、リアルタイムの物語、

二つのテーマが成り立ったように思う、（どちらも中途半端）

次の作品をあたろうと思わせたことで星３つ。
