新しい家族の形を描く本、とありました。
主人公は、自分は捨て子だと思っている小学校4年生の少年、育生。
ちょっと変わった母親がいて、母親にはボーイフレンドが出来て、これまた変わった不登校の同級生がいて。
この母の愛情の深さには驚くばかりでした。
親子の証明を見せて、という育生に、卵の殻を入れたへその緒の箱を見せる母。
これじゃあ駄目というと、力強く、ぎゅっと抱きしめて、｢親子の証が見えた？｣と言う母。出てくる人全てが温かくて、幸せな気持ちになれる1冊でした。

「卵の緒」と「7's　blood」の２編からなる中編集で表題作は第７回の坊ちゃん文学大賞の受賞作です。

２編とも瑞々しいタッチで描かれていて甲乙つけがたいほどいい作品だと思う。
子供の視点から家族のあり方をさりげない筆致で描いているが、読者の胸を打つことは間違いなし。

表題作は母親が育生を引き取ったいきさつが、また「7's　blood」は七子と七生の別れのシーンが・・・

いずれもそれぞれ血の繋がってない親子、異母姉弟の心のふれあいを描いているが、血よりも濃い思いやりの心が滲み出ていて読者に日々忘れかけている本当に大切なものを思い起こさせてくれる。

瀬尾さんの感性豊かな文章はとっても鮮やかで、読後感のいい１冊となりました。

　初めて瀬尾さんの作品を読みました。タッチが好きです。描き方がいい。とてもみずみずしい印象をうけました。ストレートに言うなら「かわいい」！
　ボクは二つ目の作品、「7s Blood」が印象的でした。「夜のピクニック」ではないですが、異母姉弟の複雑な心のあやを少しずつ、トキホグクしながら、お互いの気持ちをかわし合い、成長していく。いやみがなく、素直に声援を送れる物語でした。こういうの好きだなあ。「感動」なんて大げさな言葉にしてしまうと陳腐になってしまうような、とてもさわやかな心象。こういう物語好きです！
