『肩ごしの恋人』唯川恵（マガジンハウス）は、噂にたがわず面白い話だった。

三度目の結婚をしたばかりのるり子と、まだ一度も結婚していない萌。この二人が主人公。

るり子という女は、美人で「気紛れで、自惚れ屋で、浅はか」な見かけ倒しの、女に嫌われる女。男であろうがなんだろうが、欲しいものは欲しいと表現する人。そして、手に入れるなり、アッという間に冷めてしまう。言ってみればサイアクー！というタイプ。

しかし、これが段々と魅力的に見えてくるからアラ不思議。

この辺が北上氏のいう「初期の山本文緒を髣髴とさせる」部分か。

萌がひょんなことから会社のバイトの子と一夜を過ごしてしまい、それが１５歳と判明。おまけにるり子の元彼（柿本）とは不倫。の忙しい日常。

柿本の高校の同級生でゲイバーのママ文ちゃんがイイ。周囲の思惑を気にせず自分の生き方を貫くとこが。・・・それはるり子にも通じる魅力か。

私もこうでありたいことよ。（と、珍しく中学生の感想文みたいな終り方。はは。）

近親相姦、不倫、離婚騒動などドロドロした内容のわりに嫌な残り方のしないすっきりした切れの良い後味。

対照的なるり子と萌、その二人の性格がよく表されていると思います。二人のちぐはぐなやり取りに思わず笑ってしまいました。
ラスト、二人はそれぞれ型にはまらない幸せを手にします。あんまりにも幸せとは程遠いと思われる選択を取った二人、そこに違和感を覚える読者は多々いるでしょう。それに挑戦し、かつ十分成功といえる作品を書ききった唯川さんに星五つ。
「ほんとにそれでいいのかっ？！」というラストですが、きっと二人はこう答えるはず、「いいのよ。」
