内容については素晴らしい本です。
人生の成功を導く考えと行動について、信念といった抽象論から、NLPやミラーリングなど実践論まで具体的に網羅しています。
読んだその時点で、自分の目標とやるべき行動、そして行動を支えるやる気が揃う。これは自己啓発本に印象やイメージが先行してる抽象論ばかりのもの、あるいは思いつきを並べた実践論ばかりのものが少なくないことを考えると、かなり優れている思います。
また原作者は現役コンサルタントとして活躍している方ですので、その言葉の信頼性もお墨付きです。
大抵の人にとって、この本は読む時間を割くだけの価値がある思います。

しかしそれでも星2つにした理由は、前にも述べられていますが、翻訳です。
本書は、原著の内容を半分程度削ったものとなっているほか、超訳も少なくありません。
説明不足の感が否めませんし（例えばスィッシュ・パターンは、原著を読むまで誤った理解をしていたことに気づきませんでした）、また最近日本で氾濫しているような陳腐なキャッチフレーズも目に付きます。
原著が高い評価を受けているだけに、これは非常に残念です。
幸い、題が原題の「無限の力」となっていませんし、是非完全版の方を望みます。

初めて読むのに、既に読んだことがある気がするのは、ほとんどの内容（エピソードまで）を『成功の９ステップ」ジェームズ・スキナー著、に引用されているからですね。素晴しい内容なのですが、ホームレスに２５セント与えるエピソードまで同じで、上記の本を読んだ方には、ちょっと目新しい部分がないと思います。オリジナルとして、こちらを先に読みたかったです！

本を読み終えて印象に残ったのは、
「強くなりたければ、強いふりをしろ」
という言葉でした。

弱音を吐けば、弱い自分に浸って納得をしてしまう。
もしくは他人の同情を誘って楽になれる。
でも、根本的な解決にはならない。

自分の周りを見ていて思うのは
前向きな人は幸せになってるし、
後ろ向きな人は幸せを掴んでいるとは思えない。

後ろ向きになってしまう人には
「強いふりをする」というのは
改善の一歩目として大切なことではないだろうか？
そのように感じました。

個人的に得たものがあったので、星５つです。
