　相手のホンネが見たい。これは人類の永遠の欲求であるといえる。ビジネスの場面、法廷での尋問、犯罪捜査。あらゆる場面で役立つテクニックが秘められている。

　だがその超強力な効力ゆえ、あらゆる人間関係にこのテクニックを用いることは、きわめて危険である。私自身、信頼していた女性にこのテクニックをつかって接していたら、見事にキラわれてしまった。

　大切なことは、「他人を興味の対象にすること」。詳しいことはこの本を読んでもらえばよいが、接する人に対する「基本的な態度」が、一番重要なんだ。それともうひとつ。女性は感性で動く。テクニックにすがって、あなたの感性を鈍らせるようでは、かえって逆効果になる可能性があることも、お伝えしておこう。

「もしも、相手の心が読めたなら」と思ったときに、
本書があなたのバッグに入っていれば、
高い確率であなたは相手の嘘を見破ることができよう。

本書は、バーバル／ノンバーバル（言語／非言語）の両面から、
嘘を見破る公式が列挙されている。

あなたはきっと、冷や汗無しには本書を読むことができないだろう。

なぜなら、自分が嘘をつくときの癖が、全て目の前に広がっているのだから。

と言うよりも、相手に騙されないための方法としてはよい。
実際、原題は"Never be lied again"、「二度と騙されない」である。

１章と２章は人が嘘をつく時の行動について書かれている。この部分だけでも十分価値がある。
３章以降はより具体的なノウハウになる。ここら辺は、少し疑問が残る。相当な高等テクニックである。心理操作で相手の本心を語らせるのは、相当に訓練をつんだものでないとできないのではないだろうか？
しかも、２章で書かれている、嘘をつくときに人はどうするか、と言うことをそのまま裏返して、騙して真実を語らせるテクニックも紹介されている。
狐と狸の化かしあいのようなことになっては人間関係にいいことは何もないと思うのだが。
