　３歳の息子の大好きな本です。
図書館で借りて、何度も読み、返すとまた借りる！といってまた読んで・・・結局購入することになったお気に入りです。
　ぐうたら暮らしていたごさくは、ある晩、床下の声に起こされます。「はらがひついて　しょうがないきに　なんか　おおせ」
「あずき　おおせ」「あずき　おおせ」

　それは、床下に３００年もすみついていた、「だいふくもち」でした。ごさくは、あずきひとますもらって、食べさせてやります。すると・・・だいふくもちは、こんまいもちを、ぽこんぽこんと産み始めたではありませんか！うまいもうけ話ができたと、ごさくは喜んで・・・

　読んでいても、高知の言葉がリズミカルで心地よく、ハッピーエンドではありませんが、おもしろい絵本です。

はっきり言ってコワイです。絵には独特な中にも妙な力があって、終盤の恐怖に凄味を与えています。特にラストの見開きは圧巻で、幼児向けの作品とは思えません。
ストーリーは何か教訓めいたものを説いているとは個人的には思えないのですが……あるとすれば「無理は禁物」「成功しても浮かれるな」というところなのでしょうか。
そのインパクトの強さから、ある意味で出色の作品とも言えるでしょう。一度読めばきっといつまでも記憶に残ります。ただし、子供に読ませる場合は要注意。私は、幼い頃の私にこれを読ませた母の感性を疑います。(笑)

題名を見て、笑える絵本かと思っていたら、
ところがどっこい、こわ~い絵本でした。
田島征三さんの絵もこの本では不気味に感じます。
教訓を含んだ、日本の民話というところでしょうか･･･
最後のページは言葉がありませんが、なんともいえずぞくぞくします。
