図書館で表紙を見て　あ、おもしろそう！　と借りたのがきっかけでした。
仕事で　学童保育（1~4年まで在所）の指導員をしてますが、この　おかえし　を　読み聞かせで　読みました。　
すると、全員が　見事にはまったのです。
読んでみたら、子ども達の反応は…

「時計が進んでる」「時間が経ってる」「これで何回目のおかえし」「やっぱりね、こうなると思った！」と　全員がおかえしの楽しさにはまりましたし、私も子どもの観察力の凄さに驚きました。
これを読んだ後は　「おかえし」の言葉を　楽しんで使ってましたよ！
読み聞かせを半年ほど　してますが　この本は　私のなかでＮＯ、１の絵本です。

5.0 out of 5 stars 忘れられない１冊になる絵本！, 2004/4/13
　実を言うと、この絵本は２冊購入してるんです。１冊目は幼少の頃ぼろぼろになるまで母に読んでもらって、残念ながら家から消えてしまい、２冊目は大人になって「あの絵本をもう一度見たい！」という思いから、題名も思い出せない中から探し出した１冊です！

　子どもの頃に読んでから20年以上たった今でも内容を覚えているということはインパクトがかなり強い絵本なんだと思います。
　この絵本は日本文化が反映されていて愉快です。東洋人らしい発想ですよ。子どもにとってはインパクトがあって、大人には愉快に感じられる、忘れられない１冊になると思います。

お隣同士で際限なく、家中の物をお返ししあう
たぬき母子ときつね母子が、何とも大まじめでユーモラス！
「お返しの繰り返し」に、小さな子も大喜びですが、
何度も読んでるうちに、絵の隅々にまで仕掛けがしてあるのに気づき、
また、ほんとに日本の作家？と思うくらいの
鮮やかな色合いのセンスの良さにも感心させられます。

両家のインテリアや食生活の微妙な違い、
お母さん達が大騒ぎの中、もくもくとイチゴを食べちゃう子供、
もらったタケノコがちゃんと夕飯に出てたり、細か~いお楽しみが！
最後はめでたしめでたしの両母子の様子に、ホッとします。
