収録作品は以下の４つ。

「栄光は君に輝く」吉朗のクラスは文化祭でメイド喫茶をやることに。
「オトメの秘密〜ときめきの謎〜」春生は千尋（千広）が男ではないかと疑いを。
「オトメの秘密〜ふくらみの謎〜」春生は新人メイド達の教育のネタが尽きて・・・
「ポートレート−笑顔の向こう側」真琴と吉香の幼馴染が佐倉家に逗留しに来た。

「ときめきの謎」はドラゴンマガジン増刊「ファンタジアバトルロイヤル」2006年春号に掲載された短編。この度めでたく収録されました。

今回は入れ替わり事件は無く、どれも普通の恋愛小説となっています。
普通じゃない所もあるけど(苦笑)、それは、このシリーズの持ち味になっている部分です。

それにしても正直、４巻が出るとは思いませんでした。
「入れ替わり」に必要な神社は３巻の最後で封印されてしまったので、「これ以上何が出来るんだ？」と。
２巻の時も３巻の時も驚いたんですが、この分だと５巻が出てしまうのでしょうか・・・？

全４編の短編集。随分と久し振りな気がする吉朗と麻琴の話【栄光はキミに輝く】が相当に面白い。学園祭でメイド喫茶というベタな展開だが、何しろ本物のメイド経験者だったがために、そして麻琴に良いところを見せるために頑張る吉朗が、視察として出向いたメイド喫茶でダメ出しを連発、同じく戻って来ている千広にメイドの講師まで依頼する拘りを炸裂させる。アッチの世界に絡めた会話も楽しい。千広が春生の写し身である晴生を知るシーンもある。こうして迎えた学園祭当日は、女子の企みにより思わぬ展開を見せるが、アッチの世界でのやりとりを彷彿させる麻琴と吉朗が見せた結末が心地よい。

これまで名脇役に徹していた春生メイン【オトメの秘密〜ときめきの謎〜】の面白いところは、この話の時期が第１巻と第２巻の間、つまり吉朗（吉香）と麻琴（真琴）は戻っているが千広（千尋）はまだ戻っていない頃にある。もしかしたら千広は男なのでは？という彼女らしい勘違いから始まる、千広の正体を暴こうとする話で、理由こそアレだが鋭い観察眼の春木らしさが出ている。吊橋効果を活用したオチが上手。

懲りない春木の物語【オトメの秘密〜ふくらみの謎〜】は、みんな元に戻った後の話で、第３巻の終りに語られていた新人の使用人達がいる。吉香の豊かな胸の謎に迫るつもりが、本人も思わぬ展開となり、最後はまんざらでもないと思い始める春生が可愛らしい。応援したくなる。

最後の【ポートレート−笑顔の向こう側】は韓流ドラマをイメージしているとか。そう思えなくもない爽やかな展開である。通常、このような恋敵（男）が現れると胸糞悪いものだが、この恋敵があまりに爽やかで筋の通った好青年なためにむしろ好印象さえ抱く。本作のタイトル【笑顔】が誰のもので、その【向こう側】に誰がいるのかは今更説明不要であろう。

今回の巻は久々に吉朗たちの世界のお話。
学校祭で吉朗たちがメイド喫茶をやることに！！
吉朗と麻琴の絆の深さがよくわかりました。ただ、もう少し麻琴とのシーンがほしかったと思います。
是非読んで見てください。
