唐突に始まる非日常への旅がこの本の全てだ。
沖縄の美しさが目に浮かぶようで、今までの作者からは考えられない自然描写があり、実験作的な面も窺え、読んでいて作者がいかに沖縄に深い思い入れがあるかが伝わってた。
非日常を描くのが小説だがライトノベルと文学小説の違いは登場人物たちのリアリティだ。言うまでもなく文学小説の人物たちは常識的設定に基づいていて、読者は人物たちとの同化ができる。しかしライトノベルは人物たちや世界に『非日常』的な設定が施されていて、読者は人物たちにとっての非日常的行動を観察するしかない。そこが、ライトノベルが文学界で隅に追いやられている原因だと思う。
今作もそれに漏れず、主人公とヒロインは非日常的設定がなされ、彼らは彼らにとっての非日常を行動する。しかしそれこそがライトノベルの醍醐味だと思う。

　唐突な展開に翻弄されまくりの主人公の、人付き合いの苦手さがこの手の小説には良くあることですがやはりいいですね。あまりこういう小説は読んだことは無いのですが、すんなり読めます。感情移入して読める人ならこの物語はうってつけです。何度か読み返す派の人にもお勧めです。一週目では分からなかった事情が解けてすっきりします。
　主人公たちが見出したニライカナイが大っぴらに表現されないのでただ読むだけでは面白くないでしょう。考えながら読む青春小説です。
　葉山さんのこれまでの作品とは全く作風が違いますが、主人公の設定に「ああ、やっぱり」と。『9S』を知ってる方なら特にそう思うと思います。

羽田空港で、沖縄キャンペーンのポスターを見ていたタクローは、そのポスターの中の女の子、人気絶頂のアイドル、宮沢梨花と出合い、そのまま強引に沖縄に連れて行かれることになる。リカに振りまわされるタクロー。リカの目的は？行き先は？そして、これからどうなる？？？

といった青春ラブストーリーで、「ナインエス」を読んでこの本に手を出した私は、ちょっと戸惑い気味でした。ストーリーは、なんとなぁーく、読めてしまうのですが、詳細な沖縄の描写とか、不器用な二人がおたおたしてるところとかが面白くて、するりと読めてしまいます。ただ、設定その他に多少無理が感じられますが、その辺はやっぱりライトノベルってことなんでしょうか。
