基本的な設定から見直して、新しくなったソードワールド。

追加修正された点を少し上げてみると
・世界の変更（接点など全くなしの新世界）
・種族の追加
・職業の名称などの変更や追加
・成長システムの変更（ステータスが簡単に上がるようになった）
・生き返りやすくなったが魂が穢れるというシステム
・ポーションなどの使い捨てアイテムの追加

種族やアイテムなどの絵が少なめで直感的に分かりにくい。

元のソードワールドにアリアンロッドRPGを混ぜるとこんな感じになるかなぁと思いました。

このルールブックはLV5までをサポートしており、ルールブックII、IIIに任せている部分も多く、まだ導入だけという感じです。
全て出揃った時、どうなるかに期待したいところ。

文庫サイズなので持ち運びが楽。また縦書きより読みやすい印象あり。

ソードワールドをやったこともある人にも、まだでやってみたい人にもとっつきやすい内容。
文庫版で、手に入れやすいのも好印象です。

・舞台は新しい大陸
・基礎能力値が別になったので、能力値の最低ラインが確保されるようなルール
（一応人間の冒険者のみ筋力２４とかつくれます）
・サンプルキャラあり
・以前はレーティング表（＝威力表）を見るのがめんどくさかった（苦笑）が、今回はアイテム（主に武器）については それぞれのアイテムに威力表が付いているので、書き写すのが楽チン。
そのせいで、武器の必要筋力を自由に変えることができなくなっていますが･･･。
（それができるとしたら、上級ルールかと）
・初期のお金はみーんな一緒
・ファンブルが１回５０点に上昇
・基本的に死ににくくなった
・魔法使いでも戦士でもレベルアップに必要な経験値は一緒。レベルのたちおくれがちな魔法使いもさくさく強くなる！

などなど、色々な変化があります。

２版で旧版のキャラをコンバートは無理のようなのです（ＧＭに相談？）

ネット等での意見・要望を拾い上げて丹念にブラッシュアップした新作TRPGという印象です。ソード・ワールドRPGの新バージョンにあたるわけですが、過去作品との連続性よりも、刷新された世界観と強力なサポート計画に期待しています。
ファイター（戦士）、グラップラー（拳闘士）、フェンサー（軽戦士）、シューター（射手）、ソーサラー（魔術師）、コンジャラー（操霊術師）、プリースト（神官）、フェアリーテイマー（妖精使い）、マギテック（魔動機師）、スカウト（斥候）、レンジャー（野伏）、セージ（学者）の１２技能がルールブック１では、サポートされています。
特にマギテックで、銃やバイクがサポートされた点は、他のファンタジーTRPGでの先例はありますが、ソードワールドにとって思い切った改革だと言えるでしょう。私は世界を広げる試みとして、支持したいと思います。
種族としても、二足歩行する兎や、奉仕型の魔法生命体種族（メイドロボ？）といった新規な要素を取り入れています。
横書きの文庫ルールブックというのは珍しいですが、一般的なソフト／ハードカバーのルールブックの小型版という感じなので、読みやすいかと思います。
