元気な女の子が活躍する王道ファンタジーとして評判は上々のようです。『紅牙のルビーウルフ』。

実際に面白いです。登場人物が魅力的に描かれています。王家の血をひきながらも、狼の母の乳で育った盗賊娘ルビーが主人公として生き生きとしています。お国のために頑張ります。それとジェイドの悩みなんかは上手く扱っていると思いました。
ただ、敵役の描写はちょっと薄かったかもしれません。富や権力といった現世的な野心を持っているのではない敵の底の測り知れなさをもっと不気味に描いていれば更に良かったと思います。味方キャラが多いこともあって、敵が一筋縄で行きすぎだったかもしれません。そのため、あとひと味の物足りなさを感じる読者もいるかもしれません。

って、ちょっと厳しい意見になってしまいましたが、シリーズ化されれば続きが読みたくなります。ジェイドの悩みが進行する方が早いか、ルビーとの関係が進展する方が早いか、一読者としてとても気になります。

最近少なくなったような気がする王道ファンタジーということで、
発売前から期待していました。
実際に読んで感じたのは、王族の血を引きながらも
狼と盗賊に育てられた主人公・ルビーウルフを始め、
登場キャラクターが個性的で魅力的だということ。
文章もしっかりしていて読みやすかったです。
難をいえばもう一味、何か欲しい気もしましたが、
全体的に完成度が高く楽しませてもらえました。
また、著者が二十歳の女性ということもあるのか、
女性の方が読んでも楽しめる内容になっていると思います。
ルビーたちの今後の活躍も今から楽しみです。

これは、第17回ファンタジア長編小説大賞で
見事入選を勝ち取った作品である。

新人の作品は毎年見ているが、ここ数年面白いと呼べる作品はなかった。

連載に至らないどころか、数巻で完結しているものが多いことからも
世間の評価もあまり良くなかったということが窺える。

しかし、今回の作品は自信を持って面白いと言える。

最初は王道ファンタジーということで不安もあったが、
読んでいくうちに話に引き込まれていった。

キャラクターの造形もさることながら、話の構成も文章も読みやすくてよかった。

ライトノベルというのは、イラストで騙されたというケースはよくある。

しかし、この作品はイラストに惹かれて手にとってみても後悔することはないだろう。

久しぶりに良作である。
