単語を覚えるのには、
1、単語と意味を覚えるタイプ
2、フレーズでコロケーションと覚えるタイプ
3、短文で覚えるタイプ
4、本書のように文脈で覚えるタイプ
くらいに分けられるでしょうか。

だからどれが良いとは言えないけど、
文脈タイプが合う人にはほぼ完璧と言えるような本なはず。

文法や構文は覚えて、あとは単語とリスニング対策に力を注げる人は本書をどうぞ。
分野ごとに分けた文章があり、音声も付いているから
単語も覚えられるし、読解の練習にもなるし、リスニングの練習にもなる。
スピーキングは別にがんばろう。

類書もあるだろうけど、本書のレベルで、
本文、音声、和訳と三つそろったのはそうないはず。
音声が抜けていたり、チェックのための和訳がなかったりすることが多い。

このように良い出来だから、TOEFL対策だけでなく、
英語力を高めたい人には是非おすすめしたい一冊です。

以前使っていた単語集を断念し購入したこの本。人気の高い某単語集にしようかとも思いましたが、やはり単語は文脈で覚えるべきだと思いこちらにしました。選択は正しかったと思います。この本は全20レッスンで、20日で完成されるよう構成されています。1レッスンにつき4パッセージで、どれもTOEFLに出されるような学術的内容になっており興味深いです。1パッセージには大体10の頻出単語が含まれており、ただ単語を羅列したものよりも覚えやすくなっています。よく使ってみると分かりますが、1つ前のレッスンで使われた単語が次の日のレッスンに使われていたりするので知らぬ間に復習が出来ます。比較的簡単な単語が多いですが、やる価値は十分にあります。単語の意味は言える、でもリスニング中に出てきても瞬時に意味が出てこないという人にもオススメです。

おなじみの「TOEICテスト９００点、TOEFLテスト２５０点への王道」で紹介されていた「戦略的TOEFLテストCBTボキャブラリー基本編」の改新版。新しくなってさらに使いやすくなっている。この基本編と完成編の２冊の文章を完全に理解して、（単語、文法、構文の分からないところをなくす）何度も聞き何度も読むことで、リスニング、リーディング２５点以上は固い。但し、会話は無いので口語表現を押さえたい場合は他に一冊イディオム用の参考書をやる必要あり。
