０８年度暮れカンブリア宮殿で２週連続で放映された「ユニクロ飛躍」についてとほぼ同様の内容が書かれている。

　世界不況の中で年末商戦で二桁増益と日本の百貨店が不況の中でユニクロだけが目立っているように映る。中国での匠プロジェクト成功、際立ったプロモーションなど不況の中で勝った原因を本書でまとまえている。成功の裏でM＆Aでは必ずしも成功をしていないなど数々の失敗があることも分かる。失敗は成功の母という言葉がある通り、その失敗が成功に結び付くかが柳井さんが掲げている２０１０年度売上高１兆円に届くかどうかのカギになっているようだ。
