ミスワールド香港代表から映画女優になったマギー・チャン、「アジアの紅玉」とも言われる、中国出身の女優コン・リーの二人を中心に、１９９０年代の香港映画で活躍する女優を紹介した写真集です。香港映画のことはあまり知らなかったので、「香港の女優たちに接して」や「香港映画女優小史」などの文章も興味深かったです。１９９９年７月の出版ですが、後に「冷静と情熱のあいだ」でブレークしたケリー・チャンもしっかり紹介されています。

大女優ジョゼフィーヌ・シャオもシルヴィア・チャンも紹介されていないのは欠陥品としか思えません。他にも香港映画を語る上で重要な女優さんが抜けています!写真も綺麗じゃないし…がっかりの一言です(泣)
