「イーサネット」の特集を読んで、今まで漠然と理解していたイーサネトを具体的に理解できました。ただし、記事を読みこなすにはネットワークの基本的な知識が必要だと思います。

「ネットーワーク実験室」は、実践的な内容でこれからＬＡＮを構築しようとしている人には参考になると思います。機種、ケーブルの特徴や仕組み・選定・してはいけないことなど説明されています。

「無線ＬＡＮのしくみ」は無線ＬＡＮの基礎から説明がされていて概略は理解できます。しかし、頻繁に専門用語が出てくるので一語一語理解して行く必要があります。本書は2003年に出版されているので、それ以後の2年間の無線ＬＡＮの最新動向が書かれていないません。これは各自で調べて知識の追加をする必要があると思います。

「超入門」とはなっていますが、記事の内容はレベルが高めですね。
ＬＡＮをこれから学ぼうとしている人には不向きだと思います。

「ネットワーク技術を勉強し始めた」「ちょっとはネットワーク技術がわかってきた」「ネットワーク技術はかなり知っているけど、復習したいな」という方々にオススメなのが、日経NETWORKの記事を再編集した「超入門シリーズ」です。
ぼくもいままで発売されているものはすべて購入していますが、記事を

まとめ直しただけだと侮らないほうがいいですね。日経NETWORKのこれまでの記事をあらためて分野ごとに読んでいくことで、知識の整理や確認がとても簡単にできます！！

本書は基本的な部分から少し深く突っ込んだところまで非常に綺麗な図解とともにわかりやすく解説してくれます。
また、新しい話題についても豊富だったり、一般の専門書に載っていないような少しディープな話題についても記述されていたりします。
厚さもほどよく、素早く全体を確認することが可能です。
電気通信主任技術者試験等の資格試験において最適な教材ではないでしょうか。
