NLPの本はこの本が初めてでしたが、この本を選んでよかったと読後に思いました。
専門的に、学術的に勉強するためには、本書は合わないのかもしれませんが、NLPって何？コミュニケーションに使えるって聞いたけどどんなもの？といった日常生活や仕事での人間関係に活かしたいといった方には非常に優れた基本書となっていると思います。
「はじめに」の内容でまず惹かれます。本編の構成も非常にわかりやすく、「なるほど」の連続です。人と話していて、なんとなく感じる違和感、話しがお互いに通じ合えた、よね？と時々感じるわずかなズレ。人が言葉を発するときのメカニズムを、専門的にではなく、著者の言葉に噛み砕いて説明してくれます。
著者は心理学、脳機能などの科学的な研究だけではなく、ヨガ、密教といった分野等に幅広く能力開発の研究を行ってきており、その経歴が欧米系の著者によるNLPの説明と一線を画す優れた入門書（基本書）にしているのかもしれません。
NLPって何？と思った方、迷わず最初の一冊に選んでよいと思います。星５つ！

急ぐことなく、煽ることなく、非常に丁寧に説明された本。
著者のレクチャーを実際に受けている気分になりました。

重要なところを繰り返してあり、無理なく理解（定着）が
できると思います。

タイトルに偽りなし！。ずばり「基本がわかる本」です。

NLP入門のための教科書的本。図を駆使した解説が多く、
非常に分かりやすく書かれている。

「基礎」だけにとどまらず、基礎から応用、実践に使えるものと
幅広いテクニックが紹介されている。

まさに、NLPのための教科書と呼ぶにふさわしい内容である。
初心者の方には、ぜひおすすめしたい。
