文庫本サイズ、厚さは2cm弱です。
1ページが上下2段で書かれているので文字は小さめですが
通勤・通学・旅行などの持ち運びには便利です。
表紙もビニール加工で丈夫ですし、
しおりにする紐(!?)もちゃんと長めに付いています。

聖書が初めての方の為にちょっとレビューします。
新約聖書にはイエスキリストがどこで何をして、何を言ったのかが
4つのパターンで書かれています。
これらはマタイ、マルコ、ルカ、ヨハネという4人の人々によって書かれたといわれおり
いずれも同じ出来事なのですが、書かれた時期もさることながら
それぞれの視点やまとめ方も多少違っているのが特徴です。

これら4つの福音書をメインと、キリスト没後の弟子たちの様子や
その後、各所に建てられた教会への手紙がまとめられたものが新約聖書です。
この詩篇付きには、旧約聖書に収められている詩篇も付いています。


初めての方には特に、いきなり大きく立派な聖書を買っても
重い・分厚い・メンドくさいで読まなくなってはもったいないので
この小型は大きさ・価格共にちょうど良いと思います。

字がほどよい大きさで、行間もほどよく開いていて読みやすいです。しかも厚すぎず、携帯用としてちょうどいいと思います。

　たとえばダヴィンチコード、地名のロスリン、ROSLIN(Rosslyn)をRose Lineと読ましてみたり、キリストの隠し子の子孫が出てきたり、ニュートンまで新約聖書の遺物として、万有引力のappleをキーワードにしています。ダヴィンチコードはラテン語とフランス語と英語の聖書の言葉遊びとは言い過ぎでも、聖書の外伝かもしれません。
　新約聖書のヨブ記は読んでもらいたいです。何の罪も無く、神を畏敬するヨブに神は様々なものを奪って苦しめることによりヨブの神に対する信仰心を試します。これが欧米人、キリスト教徒の神に対する考え方です。
またこれも西欧的、というか人間普遍の考え方、エデンの園で知恵の樹の実を食べた、アダムとイブがなぜエデンの園を追放されたのか。知識つまり知恵や嘘をつくことが人間にどれだけ害悪を与えたことかということを言っていると思います。例えば人を傷つけるとか戦争とか。知恵と言うものの賜物です。
　西洋人は来日したら日曜日に日本人の神父、牧師のいる日本の教会にミサに行くでしょうか？行かないと思いますが、その辺の日本人に対する異端の観念を新約聖書を読むことで知ってもらいたいです。
