文系出身なので、仕事で電気機器関連の知識が不十分で苦労することがあります。色々な入門書を買って自分なりに読んでいたのですが、あと一歩、ぴんときませんでした。もし、この本に最初に出会っていたら、同じ本を読んでも理解度が全然違っただろうと思います。わかりやすく、興味がわくような構成になっていて、とても楽しく読めました。その上、とてもバランスよく必要な基礎知識が盛り込まれているようで、先日会議でエンジニアの人たちの議論を聞いていた時に、議論のポイントがはっきり理解できている自分に驚きました。これを足がかりにもう一度勉強しなおそうと張り切っています。

本書は以下の4部構成になっています。
第一章「電気とは？」では、自由電子や絶縁体やオームの法則等の、電気関係の専門用語の解説。
第二章「電気の基礎を築いた人たち」では、電気の研究をしてきた人たちの時系列にそった研究方法や解説。
第三章「電力システムと重要な電子素子」では、水力・火力等の色々な発電システムの仕組みや、電池やダイオードや半導体等の電気製品で使われる重要な部品の解説。
第四章「身近な電気の現代技術」では、蛍光灯やレンジや電波等の、身近にある電気設備や電気製品の解説。

本書を含め市販されている電気関係の本をいくつか読みましたが、オームの法則の解説に、
電圧、電流、抵抗の比例・反比例の関係をオームの法則としていたり、
E=RI　R=E/I　I=E/R　これらの式の関係をオームの法則としている本が多数ありました。
紙面上の問題で詳しく解説出来ないのかもしれませんが、初学者用の本だからこそ基本であるオームの法則をきちんと説明されている本が必要だと思います。
間違いでは無いかもしれませんが、誤解して覚えてしまう可能性が高いので、せめて比例定数という単語を使用してほしいです。
ただ、本書は分かりやすくまとまっていますし、興味が沸くように工夫されていて読みやすいので、
電気について分からなくて、何から勉強したらいいのかすら分からないって人にとっては良書だと思います。
この本一冊あれば電気のことがきちんと理解出来るわけではないので、この本で何となくでも電気を理解してから別の初学者用の専門書にて知識を深めていくのが良いかもしれません。
