　私は心理学が専門ではないのですが心理学の断片的な知識は持ち合わせていたため、専門学校で教える必要に迫られ、私自身の知識を整理するためにと購入しました。

　第1章で心理学の歴史と方法論と題して心理学の歴史に関して、第２章は実験心理学的な内容を中心に、少ないページに色々な話題を取り入れてまとめてあります。

　個人的に役にたっているのは、第３章で「人間の一生と心理学」とありますが要は「発達心理学」の概要です。
　どの年齢の人にも接するに当たっても「発達心理学」的な知識は欠かせないものであり、私としてもこの本はわかりやすくまたそこそこの内容の深さで上手にまとめていると思います。「発達心理学」は概要が頭の中に入ったような気になっても、意外と細かい分類などは覚えきれず、よくこの本のお世話になっています。

　第４章や第５章は臨床心理学や社会心理学やその周辺の話題の導入。
　少ないページに色々な話題を取り入れているので言ってみれば「浅く広く」。もっとも、「図解雑学」と誰でも簡単に楽しんて読むことを目標としている入門書ですから物足りなさを感じるのもやむをえないでしょう。

　ですから心理学の知識がある程度ある方は、この本を踏み台として興味関心のある専門書へと進まれることをおすすめします。

図解雑学の名のとおりこの本は図などがついていて
かなり分かりやすい部類に属すると思われます。
自分がとる行動や相手が取る行動がどういう心の変化から
起こりうることなのかがこの本を読んでいれば、なるほど
なるほどと理解できます。また、いつ心理学は生まれたのか
誰が始めたのかなどの心理学の歴史も知ることができる
すばらしい一品です。心理学に興味のある方や学びたいと
思っている方にはぜひお勧めです。

心理学は専門外ですが、自分の専門（言語学）と少なからず関連する部分があったので、分かりやすい入門書を探していたら、この本に出くわしました
他の「図解雑学」シリーズと同様に、開いて左にコラム、右に図やイラストという構成なので、専門外の自分にも用語や概念のイメージが簡単に沸いてきました。もうちょっと難しい本と併用して使っていますが、やはり基本的なことを分かりやすく、視覚的に説明してくれるこの本のおかげで、もう一冊の理解も深まったと思います。
このシリーズなら興味はあるけど、予備知識もないしなぁっと恐れて勉強しなかった分野もスムーズに勉強できるかもしれません
