著者名は續肇彦、出版社は永末出版です。日常臨床で顎関節症の患者さんに出会う、臨床医にとって悩みは、この病気を根本治癒に持っていく治療法が確立されてない事にあると思います。悩んでは確実なスキルを求めて講習会に学び、本を買っても、求めているスキルが得られずがっかりする事が多いと思います。この本は歯科医としては驚くほど教養のある続先生が、自分の診療を失敗を含めてさらけ出して（写真が分かりやすい）、顎関節症とは？治療法は？と自答自問の歴史を書かれています。私はそれを読んで「患者さんの痛みや目の前の要求に誠実に応えながら良い関係を作りつつ、患者さんと付き合っていく、その先にしか治療の成功はないのだと感じました。」出版後２０年以上経っても全く古びない、類書も塊ばない。
