簡単に言うと新スタートレックのＴＶ全１７８話、映画４作のストーリー、製作メモを載せた本です。
ＴＶのエピソードの方はストーリーと製作メモでだいたい１話１ページと言う感じですね。
映画は１５ページくらいで載っています。
ＤＳ９コンパニオンほど詳しくは載っていないですが、エピソードガイドとして持っておくのが良いでしょう。
ＤＶＤを見てそのエピソードの製作メモを読んで「なるほど」と思うのも良いと思います。
とにかく新スタートレックの事が更にわかる１冊なのでオススメです。

5.0 out of 5 stars やっぱりＴＮＧは偉大！, 2005/2/20
国内では食玩、ＤＶＤリリース、週刊誌の発行等で一見盛り上がっているかの様にみえるＳＴですが、実際は劇場版の興収不振とエンタープライズの４シーズン打ち切りで、ちょっと先行き不安な状態です。
そんな中改めて本書を読むとＴＮＧの偉大さが良くわかります。
翻訳も読みやすくＤＳ９コンパニオンに続くヒットと言えるでしょう。
この勢いでＶＧＲコンパニオンも！と言いたいところですが、ＶＧＲ
コンパニオンの場合、ＴＮＧ、ＤＳ９と違い原書にボリュームがないのが難点ですが・・・
ともあれＤＡＩ-Ｘ出版にはこの調子で出版をお願いしたいものです。

日本語版のＴＮＧ本としては、ぎりぎり星５つです。
他の既刊本（ＴＮＧ関係）と比べても、見劣りはしません。
それにエピソードとして、劇場版の”ネメシス”まで含まれています。
ただやはり、”ＤＳ９コンパニオン”と比べるとかなり見劣りします。

ＴＮＧが先に出版され、それ以上のものとしてＤＳ９が書かれたはずですので
その翻訳書ですから”ＤＳ９版”と比べるのは酷かもしれません。
しかし、日本オリジナル版として”挿絵”や”写真”をもっと多く入れても良かったのではないかと思います。

エピソードリスト（一覧表）に劇場版を加えていないなど少し詰めの甘い部分もありますが、
エピソード（劇場版含む）ごとに、その内容と解説を書いていますのでＴＮＧ本の中では優秀な部類といえます。

劇場版のみ”ＤＳ９コンパニオン”レベルで良く書かれていますので、
かなり甘めですが星５つとします。
