本作品について、背景は色々ありますが敢えて語るまでもないでしょう。
「怖い話って…シーズンオフじゃん」
「どうせ本家にはかなわないだろ？」
そういう先入観の一切を捨ててこの本を読んでみてください。

怖い話を求めるなら、ここにその一つの完成形があります。
ボリューム、バランス、クオリティ、そして切れ味。
15年の歴史を持つ本家「超」怖い話に並べても引けを取りません。
あらゆるジャンル、あらゆる系統を網羅した文字通りのコレクションです。
これだけの話が一冊の本にまとまっているというのは殆ど奇跡みたいなもの。
この本は、きっと誰にも真似できない。

「怪談ジャンキー」なら怖いとも思わない素人臭い話がほとんど。
たまにいいのがあったとしても、壊滅的な文章力で台無しにしている。
編者は何の仕事をしていたのか。
