この著者の本はなぜそうしないといけないのか、どうしてしたらいけないのかが理論的に書かれていて、なるほどと納得しながら読むことができる。インドアーのムーブの基本である身体の使い方から自然の岩に対したときの注意点、ロープワーク、懸垂下降なども詳細に書かれていて基本から身につけたいクライマーにお勧めである。写真も抱負でそれぞれの写真に重心の位置や力をかけるベクトルの方向なども図式されていて非常に参考になる。今まで魂で登ってきたクライマーの皆さんもう一度基本に返りましょう。あるいは全く初心の方は正しい理論とムーブが身に付くと思います。

この著者の本はいつも「なぜ、こうしたらいけないのか」「だからこうしなければいけない」ということが書かれていて、なるほどと納得しながら読むことができる。シューズの選び方に始まりインドアーから自然の岩場での基本的なムーブについて豊富な写真で説明されていて、懸垂下降の技術についてもその注意点などが詳細に書かれている。クライミングを始めてしばらくたつが、どうも行き詰まってしまう、クライミングはパワーである、魂で登るものであると考えているクライマーやこれからはじめる初心者にお勧めです。何でも基本が大切なんだと考えさせてくれるでしょう。

私も、フリークライミング始めた頃、上手な人が変ったからだの動きで登っていたの見て、たまたま見つけたこの本を読んで、なるほどと「ひねり」「ふり」「重心移動」の基本が分かり、クライミングが力だけでなくちょっとしたコツだけでも、登れるグレードが上がった経験があります。
とにかく、始めたばかりの方はおすすめです。
