タイトルが「研究者のために〜」となっていますが、これからホームページを作ろうとしている全て方に読んで欲しい本です。
冒頭では、多くの人が体験したであろう「ホームページ作りを断念した理由」に視点を当てており、ホームページを作成する上での不安や心配事を解消していきます。
昔からこう言ったことは多くの本で語られて来ましたが、この本ではよく纏まっていて、ホームページ作りの手法論も、ようやく一回りしてきたのかなと考えさせられました。
全般的に、多くの実在するホームページ画面を例に挙げているため、説明もわかりやすく、後半では情報を扱う上での注意点にも触れられています。
ブログ全盛期の今、ホームページを作ることは、時間もかかり少し大変かもしれません。ですが、逆にそんな時だからこそ、ホームページを作ってみるのも面白いかもと思わせられました。

待ちわびた本が出た。著者岡本さんのメールマガジンACADEMIC RESOURCE GUIDEの情報量と的確なコメントにはいつも圧倒されていたが，そこで発刊が予告され編集過程がブログで公開されていたというのもWeb2.0的である。
いまやパソコンや携帯電話のお世話になっていない研究者はほとんどいないだろう。その中にある電子情報を講義や論文投稿だけでなく，市民にも見えるようにインターネットに投げ込むべきだとずっと思ってきたが，この本はそのやり方の多様性を教えてくれる。
丁寧に分類されている各サイトの主宰者がそれぞれに苦闘してきた手法の数々を見て，きっと「なるほどそんな手があるのか」と納得する研究者も少なくないだろう。それで情報発信に参加してくれれば（時には学生も巻き込んで），「ウェブ進化論」（ちくま新書）の梅田さんの言う『ネットのあちら側』への知の蓄積が加速し，私たちが利用できる財産が急増すると期待される。何より，学ぶことの楽しさを知ってくれる小・中・高校生が多数出てくるのが楽しみだし，彼・彼女ら自身が情報の発し手になるきっかけとヒントにもなろう。
今からホームページを公開する人は，Web2.0関連ツール等もいろいろ使えるのだから，つくる側も見る側もその面の楽しさがある。その場合お願いなのだが，専門用語については是非同じページに日本語と英語を併記して欲しい。そうすれば専門外の調べものをする時に助かるし，英語圏に日本語コンテンツを売り込むチャンスにもなると考えるからである。また，最新の英語情報を関連日本語と一緒に検索すると，同じ漢字を使っている中国語情報だけが出てくる場合も少なくない現実を見ると，速報性・情報共有という意味でも研究者の役割は大きい。
Web1.0からWeb2.0への記念碑的橋渡しとなるこの本を是非多くの方に読んでいただき，『次の10年』に向かってみんなで前進したい。

実例が豊富で、なかなか参考になる内容だと思います。ホームページを作るだけではなく、こんなページもあるんだといろいろ発見できました。
