「一つの単語」＋「一つの単語」＝「出来上がる発音」というような例がたくさん載っています。スラングもたくさんあるので覚えやすいと思います。この本にはたくさんの聞き取るためのコツが載っています。本当にコツだけです。ですから、英語を少し勉強したことがある人にとっては、幾分簡単な本であるように思われます。長い文章や会話文を聞き取る練習をしたい方には、おすすめできませんが、英語に興味を持ち始めた方にはおすすめできる本だと思います。短い例文が載っているので多少のリスニングの練習になるでしょう。

発音の法則をまとめて平易に説明しているのは良いのですが、発音の表記をカタカナでしていたり、
発音記号でしていたりと初心者が返って混乱しかねないのではないでしょうか。
確かにカタカナのおかげで初心者でも簡単に読めるのでしょうけど、それでは発音を説明する本としては不十分ではないでしょうか。
他の本で発音記号の知識を身につけてから読むのがお勧めです

いわゆる「音の消失・連結」について中心に書かれています。
どんな時に単語同士が発音上、連結したりあるいは消失したりするのか、そんな英語の発音のルールをひとつずつ解説してくれます。
記述は非常に平易です。

付属のＣＤを何度も聴いていれば、表題に書いてあるような、リスニングのコツが次第にわかってきます。ただ、リスニングの能力全般に言及している本ではありません。その点、注意が必要かも知れません。
この本のテーマは、あくまで、自然な英語の「発音」についてだということです。
