マニア向けのウェブログ紹介ムックです。入門記事から業界人向けの記事まで楽しい取り合わせになっています。ウェブログの導入方法の技術解説、ウェブログ文化の紹介、ウェブログを取り巻く日本の IT 環境（業界動向）など興味深い記事が並びますが、いずれも断片を拾う記事なので全体の見通しが悪いのが残念です。

ウェブログブームの初期に刊行された本書は、入門ムックとして編纂されながらも想定読者層は WWW のベテランユーザです。したがって、日本の個人 Web サイト文化などについてある程度の前提知識が要求されますので、ご注意ください。

本書は誰もがウェブログの未来を語っていた「あの頃」を封じ込めたタイムカプセルとしても楽しめます。ウェブログサービスがすっかり定着した今、「こなかった未来」を考えるよい史料となるような気がします。

この本ではさまざまなBlogツールの紹介からMovableTypeの開発者のインタビュー、日本のBlog界の有名人の座談会など、今の日本でのBlog界を知るにはよい本ではないでしょうか。

Blosxomのインストール方法なども参考になりました。

後発の初心者である私にとっては、そういうことがよくわかる一冊でした。

先行したtypepadのようなプラットフォームがどういうものなのかということがざっとわかりました。

一方、様々な視点からのBLOGGERたちの感想、感触、期待、醒めた視点などが多様に交錯しており、「これが決め手！」というような説教臭さ、押しつけがましさがない。

現在進化中、進行中、それがまた多元的に展開中。

ということで、このムックのような本のその後の展開は、著者とされている方々のそれぞれのBLOGで確認せよってことなのでしょうね。

そして、何よりも、まだ、黎明期のようだから、はじめてみなさいね。というところがよく伝わってきたような気がします。
