この本は、タイトルのとおり、JavaとEclipseで何ができるかを知りたい人にお勧めです。

今月、この本を使って、Eclipse3.0とJavaに関しての講習会をする予定です。珍しく熟読しました。（その後SQLや、Strutsも継続で講習するぞ！！余談です。）
この本については、Eclipse3.0とJava、JSP、サーブレット、JSF、JDBC（MySQL）と盛りだくさんの内容なので、広く浅い内容です。
したがって、サンプルは、盛りだくさんとはいきません。しかし、基本的な解説はされています。
JavaとWebアプリケーションの世界を垣間見る程度であれば、充分と思います。
あとは、この本から派生して、必要な分野を掘り下げてゆけば良いのですから。

この本の手順通りに作業を行ったのに、出来ないことが１つありました。
VEのインストール手順のところで、
　　『emf-sdo-runtime-2.0.1.zip』
　　『GEF-runtime-3.0.1.zip』
　　『VE-runtime-1.0.2.zip』
上記プラグインを解凍し、『Plugins』『features』フォルダの中に
(解凍して出来た)数十個のフォルダをコピーしましたが、
Eclipseでクラスを新規作成する時に、
<Java>の下に<Visual Class>という項目が表示されません。

OS等の設定の問題だったらすみません。
