私は、プログラミング（全くの）初心者です。

初めに「やさしいJava」を購入しました。
わかりやすい易しい解説でした。
しかし、演習問題が章末にあるので、章のどこで学習した内容を使えば問題が解けるのかがよくわかりません。
問題量も少なく、習熟をはかることができません。

次に、「明解Java入門編」を購入しました。
すばらしい点は、読みやすい構成、丁寧で親身な解説、内容の密度です。
新しいことを学ぶたびに演習問題が出題されます。
解くことによって本の理解を深め、少し高度な内容に導いてくれます。
よく練られた演習問題です。

しかし、難しすぎてどうしても解けない演習問題が増えてきました。
本のどこを読んでもヒントが見つかりません。
学習を進めるのがしんどくなってきました。

そこで購入したのが「解きながら学ぶJava入門編」です。
「明解Java」の演習問題の解説が載っていました。
「なるほど、こうやって解くのか！」と感動しましたが、
同時に、「こんなの、解説されなければ絶対に思いつかない！」と憤りを覚えました。

著者の言う「先生の答えを待たずに、まずは自分で解いてみる」という考えは大賛成です。
ただ、独学していると、どうしてもわからない問題にぶち当たるものです。
私のようなプログラミングど素人は、特にです。

・「明解Java」…サンプルプログラムが豊富でわかりやすい
・「解きながら学ぶJava」…「明解Java」演習問題を含む1264問の問題・解説

２冊同時購入がオススメです。
つまずくことなくJavaの初歩を制覇できます。

本書は「明解Java入門編」のサンプルプログラムに対応した問題と演習問題に対応した問題を含め、1264問の問題が記載されています。各問題には、解答例とその解説が丁寧に記述されています。各章末には、練成問題として、穴埋め形式の確認問題が用意されていて、各章を読み終えた後に知識の確認ができます。「明解Java入門編」よりも実践的な問題が多いため、コツコツと問題を解くことによってプログラミングを作る実力がつくのが実感できました。

サンプルプログラムにバグを散見する。
ソースを打ち込んで実行すればすぐに見つかるレベルのバグすらある。
改訂版での修正を希望します。
