「セムラーイズム」は常に会社に必要なのは「風通しのよさ」だと強調する。会社と従業員の間に、「疑い」や「不信」はあってはならない。それは当たり前かもしれないが、このセムコ社に関してはそれの徹底ぶりがもの凄い。「従業員＝その人の生き方」が会社を創るのだという強固な信念がこの本にはある。その生き方を認める、つまり「信頼」するということが、「風通しのよさ」ということなのだろう。同じブラジル生まれのカルロス・ゴーン氏が、会社にとって必要なのは「透明性」だ言っている。著者と共通するのは故郷だけではないと感じたのはぼくだけではあるまい。

ブラジルの若き2代目経営者が果たした前代未聞の経営革命が、克明に書き綴られている。潰れる可能性さえあった小規模メーカーのセムコ社には旧態依然たる空気が漂っていたのだが、経営を引き継いだ新社長・セムラーは泥臭い現場での意識改革を率い、ブラジルで人気ナンバーワンの企業にまで育てている。全世界の経営者が同社とその経営者であるセムラーに注目し、見学者が絶えないという同社のストーリーには、ホリエモンや村上ファンドの騒動で多くの日本企業が忘れかけた、「会社にとって本当に大切なもの」を理解させ、同時に業績拡大まで約束してくれる。

飽和状態の業界において、経営者個人のがんばりでできることはたかが知れてます。私の参加している業界も非常に飽和状態です。

そんな中でも２割の勝ち組にはお客さんも売り上げも集中します。そのために、社員全員で経営に参画することは、勝ち組への扉をこじ開けてくれます。そういう未来型の経営がここにあります。

京セラの稲盛さんのアメーバ経営の原型もあります。どちらがモデリングしているか解りませんが・・・。

私自身もこの先を目指して、この本を参考に、社員にオープンブックマネージメントを行う準備を進めているところです。
