他のPL/SQL書籍と比較してみましたが唯一10gに対応しているのではないでしょうか。内容も入門からしっかりと解説してあり初心者でも基礎からしっかり理解していけると思います。後半にいくほど充実した内容となっていてこれからも仕事で困ったときなど色々と参考でき、ずっと使っていける良書です。はじめに読むPL/SQLの書籍としては最適だと思います。

仕事でOracleのシステムを構築することになり、いろいろと関連書籍を買って読んでますがこの本は本当に良くできていると思います。はじめてPL/SQLを勉強したのですがとてもわかりやすくてよかったです。チューニングなど運用にはいってからも使える情報が載っているのも魅力のひとつだと思います。
PL/SQLを使っている人やこれから使う人におすすめです！

本書は大きく分けて、基礎編・実践編・応用編の三部で構成されています。

基礎編では、PL/SQLの基礎文法が紹介されています。
変数、定数、制御構造、カーソル、例外などです。
PL/SQLではこういうふうに書くんだなといったカンジで、
初学者に最初の一歩を提供するわかりやすい内容となっています。

実践編では、プロシージャ、ファンクション、パッケージ、トリガーなどが紹介されています。
このあたりになると、名前通り実践的で、仕事で開発を行う際の基礎力を身につけるのに最適です。

応用編では、レコード、コレクション、カーソル変数、動的SQLなどが紹介されています。
ここでは、内容が専門的になってくるので、システムによっては使わないものがでてくるかもしれません。
必要に応じて、リファレンス的に使用するのがいいかなと思います。

以上を見てくると、初心者レベルから現場レベルに耐えうるまで、
非常に広い範囲をカバーしている良書だと思います。
ただ、実際の開発現場では、本書とオラクルリファレンスを併用する必要がでてくると思います。
