内容が薄いためさらりと読めるので暇つぶしにはよい。
しかし「狙って書いてますー」というあざとさが随所に見られ興ざめする。
ラストのまとめ方はうまいと思うが中盤がだらだらしてしまりがない。戦闘シーンの描写が９０年代的テイストで（意図しているならいいけど）今風の小説と比べるとややたるい。

さらっと読めてしまうファンタジー小説で、難解な謎解きもなければ小難しい表現もない。いわゆる文庫ライトノベルを多少エンターテイメント小説風にアレンジしたような感じ。
本格的な文芸を求める読者はついていけないだろうが、ゲームのノベライズやＴＲＰＧのリプレイ小説に馴染んだ読者にとっては入りやすい。好き嫌いがはっきり分かれる作品。

ライトノベルでこの値段は高いと思いながらも、エンターテイメント小説のようだったので手に取りました。

共著にありがちな文体の違いによるグダグダ感は特になく、仕上がりは良いように思います。文体は乱暴なようで描写は丁寧です。その分、戦闘シーンは冗長に感じ、テンポが悪いと思うかもしれません。何よりト書きのような脚本風の表現が随所に見られ、好みは分かれると思います。
ただ緊迫した状況で散らばって事態に直面している各登場人物の葛藤の描き方は新鮮で、言葉遣いが平易な分緊張感を持ちながらもすっと読めます。登場人物の書き分けなども良いです。
中年のまとめ役のキャラが隠れ主人公的で、主役やヒロインより魅力的な感じがします。言葉遣いは荒いけど根は親切、というあたりは読み進むほどにグッときます。

ライトノベル風の会話を楽しむというよりは、詳細な描写による世界観に浸るＳＦのように読むと良いと思います。
