~「Flashを使えばなんか動く絵とかがつくれるらしい」程度の認識で、さわってみよう！と手始めにこの本を買った者です。
サンプルがかわいらしいのでとっつきやすいかなと思ったのですが、なかなかどうして解りにくく、なぜ解らないのかもわからないという悪循環に陥り、100ページも読まないうちに断念しました。
その後Dreamweaverを勉強し、何とかタイムライン~~等、独特の機能を理解してからもう一度この本を読みはじめたら、今度は割とすんなり入っていけました。

構成は、各セクションの前半が機能の解説、後半がWeb上に用意された素材を使っての実践ですが、解説のボリュームが多くて一度にはとても憶えられません(汗)要所要所にミニ練習コーナーみたいなのが設けられていたら、まだ解りやすかったかも。
いろい~~ろ試した結果、解説はざっと流し読みをして、とにかく実際につくってみて、わからなかったら戻る…という使い方がいちばん良いようです。でもこれだとなかなか進まないので、結局ぱぱっと理解したい人には本書は向きません。
ある程度の知識がないととてもついていけないし、読み方も自分なりに工夫しないとすぐに迷宮入りする。そんな印象です。
少しでも~~他のmacromedia製品の経験がある人にはいいかもしれませんが、無理には薦めません。~

ていねいでわかりやすく、見やすくて超詳しい、今までで史上最強のFlashガイドブックと断言できます。私はFlash5からMX2004にアップグレードしたのですがこの本のおかげですんなり移行することができたばかりか、Flash5ではほとんどActionScriptには触れなかったのに、今はこの本のおかげでActionScriptでWeb制作しています。買って間違いなし。

下のレビューでシロウト向けではないと書かれていましたが、
別にシロウトが読んでも苦にはならない内容かと思います。

非常に解りやすく、書かれていますし、
初級者でも十分に読みこなせる内容だと思います。
特に、Flashでアニメーションを作成したいと思っている人には
Section２のアニメーション入門のページは非常に
参考になると思います。

Flashの全域を見渡せて、
何が出来て何が出来ないのかをわからせてくれる
一冊としては、これをおいては無いと思います。

私的には、シロウトさんがまず第一に読む本として
勧めたい本です。
あくまで主観的な意見ですが、
参考になった方は買って読んでみてください。
