「日本語全文検索システムの構築と活用」から数えると、第３版になるのでしょうか。

厳密なDBを作る必要がある場合があります。
時間を争ったり、正確性を保障する必要がある場合です。

数％くらいのごみがまざっても、安価に全文検索をできる方がよい場合はもっとたくさんあります。
本書で紹介するNamazuが、その代表例です。
プログラマなら、grepコマンドだけでも十分かもしれませんが、
プログラマ以外の人にはNamazuが最適です。
表紙のなまずの絵は、全文検索ソフトNamazuを示している。

LinuxにもWindowsにも導入でき、とても便利なソフトである。
インストールの仕方から、運用、利用の仕方までわかります。

オープンソースでも、書籍があって、それに書き込みをしていくことにより、
運用マニュアル、導入マニュアル、利用マニュアルを作るのが便利なので、本書を利用する価値があると思われます。
