ＦＤＤＩ，フレームリレー、ＩＳＤＮ、ＡＴＭ、Ｘ．２５，ＳＤＬＣ、ＡｐｐｌｅＴａｌｋ，ＤＥＣｎｅｔ、ＩＢＭ　ＳＮＡ、Ｎｅｔｗｗａｒｅのような古い話題もあります。
イーサネット、ＰＰＰ、ＡＤＳＬ，ＬＡＮスイッチ、ＢＧＰ、ＯＳＰＦ、ＲＩＰ、ＳＮＭＰのような現在でも使っている技術の説明もあります。
ちょうど１１年経っています。
現在でもよく使っているのは半分くらいかもしれません。

ネットワーク関連の知識を得るためには必然的に英語の(しかも分厚いっ！)本にぶち当たってしまうことが多々あります。
分厚い本を読む前に「ああそんなものか･･･。」と日本語で理解できる本です。
また、分厚い本を読んだ後もう一度読んだら分かりますが、結構、基礎的なことから応用的なことまで幅広く書かれおり、非常にこの本の深みを感じます。

初心者から上級者まで手元に置いておきたい一冊です！

インタネット関連の仕事をしており、通信という分野も 目覚しい発展をしており細かい知識が見につかない事が 良くありますが、この１冊で多少なりともその疑問点や 不明点が解消されました。まれに見るようなプロトコルなどもありますが知っていると便利で新しい技術との比較に 参考になります。
