2008年に70周年を迎えるスーパーマン。
その歴史の中ではいろいろな登場人物があり、様々な出来事がありました。

コミックとして売れない時はテコ入れし、設定盛り込みすぎてストーリーが破綻するとリセットしたり、スーパーマンが強すぎるため魔法という概念を持ち込んでみたりと。

私も結構スーパーマンのストーリーは追っていましたが、この本を手にとって見てみると、忘れていることが多く、そういえば、赤スーパーマンや青スーパーマンっていたなあとか、犬のクリプトもいたねえとか、アリとボクシングもしたなあなど感慨深いです。

かなりマニアックな内容なので、映画で興味を持った方がこの本を読んでも持てあますかもしれません。
少なくともアメコミのファンにお薦め。

3,500部限定なので手に入れたい方はお早めに。

スーパーマンの最期を読んだ人はその続きが気になるでしょう。この本にはその後スーパーマンがどのように復活したかを詳細に教えてくれます。その他はスーパーガールの正体がなんなのかとか、色々。スーパーマンの翻訳は最近ではあまりないので全然知らない敵の紹介がなんとも厄介でしたね。全然知りもしない敵を紹介されても…という感じでして。バットマン・パーフェクトガイドやスパイダーマン・パーフェクトガイドと比べるとストーリーについての紹介が物足りなく感じるかと思われます。

実写版やアニメ版の情報、グッズや社会的な展開などは「ほぼ皆無」です。
純粋にアメコミ版のキャラクタービジュアルガイド。ただし、作画や原作者、シリーズごとの比較といった事は為されず、データとしては弱いです。
