ひょんなことからイベントに紛れ込んだダイヤモンド強盗犯グループ、保険会社の依頼で、その強盗を追う私立探偵、研究所の守りを固める叩き上げ頑固一徹の管理人、ライバル会社から派遣されたスパイチームなどが参加を表明し、それぞれ思惑を胸にイベントに集結する。侵入者を阻むため、各所に設けられた指紋、静脈、虹彩などの生体認証。さらには、凶暴な番犬や新型警備ロボットの一群など、数々の障害に立ち向かい、突破するのはどのチームなのか。

スリルなし、意外な展開なし、アクションなし。発想だけがあるが、それも中途半端。1番酷いのは、折角キャラをはっきり立てたライバルチームがいるのに全くそれが生かされていない点。幾つかのチームを作ったものの十分活躍させるだけの力量がなかったと感じた。次作に期待したいが、何故本作が大賞なのか、些か疑問が残る。

なんか、あまりにも都合よすぎて…

こんな時は、こうあるべき、みたいな進行だったような気がします。

知識はすごいけど、それをつなげる「語り」がイマイチでした、残念。

このミス大賞受賞作であり、期待して読んだのだが、読書中止にしたくなるような内容でした。
セキュリティを破る競争をするということ自体もあまり魅かれなかった。
しかしながら、大賞受賞ということは、その筋道にどんでん返しや驚きがあるのだろうと信じて読み進めたのですが、その気持ちは裏切られました。
シリアスなものにしたいのか、コメディに持ち込みたいのか。内容的にはとても漫画チックで、コメディに持ち込みたいのなら多少わかりますが、それでも中途半端です。色を明確に打ち出さなければ、迫力は感じないし、説得力もありません。
要するに、何なの？
