他の方の絶賛に対して水をさす意図は無いのであるが、残念ながら、原典と比較すると
この倉橋訳には誤訳が極めて多い。また、不必要に曖昧な表現を用いている箇所も多い。
『星の王子さま』をより良く理解しようとする方には池澤訳の購入をお勧めしたい。

内容や訳の仕方については私は他のを読んでいないので知らないが、最期にあった訳者のあとがきに非常に不快な思いがわいた。見事なほど偏ったものの見方の強制。「聖書」や「コーラン」について批判的なものがある。自分が宗教がどうとかいうのではなく、なぜ星の王子さまを読んでこんな場所でそんな不快感を与えられるのだろうと思わされた。

その後も永遠にこの本はこういう風に読みこの本は大人の本だとか等々。読む姿勢まで言い出す始末。それほど訳は悪くはないと思うのに星一つは厳しいかもしれない。だが、最期に与えられる訳者のあとがきによる不快感のため星は一つで十分だろう。

「飼い慣らす」から「仲良くする」に訳が変わっていたりとなかなか興味深く読ませていただきました。大変読みやすく訳されていて、また、本の体裁も良く、買って損はなく、皆さんにも一読することをお勧めします。
しかし、内藤さんの訳の方が暖かみがあるように感じました。そこが、「大人のための」といわれているところでしょうか?筆者後書きは長年の「星の王子様」フリークにとっては読まない方が・・・。
戦時下テグジュペリが友人に書いた物語を、戦争の苦しみを肌で感じていた内藤さんが訳した物と、現代、平和な日本からクールに世界を見た倉橋さんの訳は、何か「空気」のとらえ方が違っているようで、読みながら考えさせられました。
