スピード感溢れる楡作品の中で、最もおすすめしたいのが本書です。知的で翳のある悪のヒーロー「朝倉恭介」がニューヨークを舞台にマフィアに挑む、というストーリーの最高級エンターテイメントです。デビュー作「Ｃの福音」の続編となっていますが、この作品からでも十分に楽しめると思います。特にハードボイルドやスパイ小説が好きな方なら必ず夢中になると思いますので、是非一気に読んでみてください。

Ｃの福音の続きということで、恭介の新たなる活躍を期待したが、
本の2/3はそれ以外の内容。
最後にやっと恭介が登場し、
復讐劇が手に汗握るおもしろさなのだが、
あまりに短くあっけなく終わってしまうので、
やや物足りない感はある。

この著者の本は、
前半が退屈でなかなかストーリーが発展せず、
最後の部分のみ見せ場があるが短いという傾向がある。

おもしろい。おもしろいが、あまりにも映画的なストーリーに少し拍子抜けした。
主人公である朝倉恭介は最初も最後も悪のヒーローだったが、この作品においてはその悪さがあまり見えてこない。話としてはおもしろいが、最初これを読んでしまうと悪人・朝倉恭介のイメージが揺らいでしまうのでは。

私的には、この話の主人公は朝倉恭介でなくてもいい。そういう意味では、これはイマイチ。実際一度読んでまた読もうとは思わない。
